Premier supplier of space solar power products for the global aerospace market.

SolAero maintains a 118,400 ft² (11,000 m²) footprint in Albuquerque, NM, housing production of solar cells, SCAs/CICs, PVA panels and panel substrates, with room for expansion. The 118,400 ft² footprint is split across two buildings, one housing production of SCAs/CICs and PVA panels and the second supporting manufacturing of solar array panel substrates and high volume PVA panels.

Since 2001, SolAero solar cells and panels have supplied primary power to over 630 successful space missions with zero-on orbit failures.

1998 - 2009 1998 - 2009
In 1998, SolAero broke ground on it's new facility where we developed and commercialized a 23% efficient dual-junction solar cell in 12 months while most industry experts projected that it would take 3 years to accomplish. Beginning in 1999, we continued to release new space qualified solar cell technology every 24 months for 10 years, driving technological innovation, not only in space power, but in space applications that have transformed how we live. NASA's Starshine-3 launched in 2001 was the first satellite powered by our Advanced Triple-Junction (ATJ) solar cells. In the period from 2000 to 2009, SolAero's ATJ solar cell was the best-selling satellite solar power solution in the world.
2010-2019 2010-2019
From 2010-2019, SolAero's ZTJ Solar cell technology was again the world's most purchased and deployed space solar power solution. Our ZTJ solar cell has powered more than 450 satellites on- orbit, including programs like supplying power to the Parker Solar Probe, the Mars Insight Lander and Planet's Dove & Super Dove Earth Imaging small satellites. In addition, SolAero is the leading supplier to commercial space endeavors, including the Commercial Resupply Service (CRS) to the International Space Station and telecommunication and Earth observation applications around the world.
2020 - 2020 -
In our over 20 years of existence, we've accomplished mission in basically every realm of space, near to the sun, deep space, Mars, the moon and over 615 satellites in Earth orbit. Our unparalleled accomplishments in the industry, and our vertically integrated manufacturing capability, we intend to continue to drive state-of-the-art technology in developing and producing the next generation of advanced solar cells. With future missions like NASA's Lucy, Psyche and the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) for Artemis powered by SolAero, we will continue to Power the New Space Race!
